Elizabeth Weitzman’s Renegade Women in Film & TV blends stunning illustrations, fascinating biographical profiles, and exclusive interviews with icons such as Barbra Streisand, Rita Moreno, and Siqourney Weaver to celebrate the accomplishments of 50 extraordinary women throughout the history of entertainment. Renegade Women honors the women who succeeded against all odds, changing their industry in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

When Weitzman visits Tidewater in February as part of the Lee and Bernard Jaffe Family Jewish Book Festival, through the Jewish Book Council, she will conduct a tour of illustrations from the book that are on display in the Simon Family JCC’s Leon Family Gallery, as well as lead a community discussion at a luncheon.

The illustrations from Renegade Women will be on exhibit in the Leon Family Gallery throughout January and February, leading up to the 27th annual Virginia Festival of Jewish Film.

The luncheon and gallery tour are free and open to the community with RSVP. For more information, or to RSVP (required), go to JewishVA.org/bookfest or call Patty Shelanski, Arts + Ideas manager, at 452-3184.
