Federation plans Summer 2017 “B’Yachad” Israel Mission

Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for a mission unlike any this Federation has offered in the past, featuring men’s, women’s and joint programming, AND a meet-up with the Young Leadership Hofheimer mission participants for a closing celebration. The Tidewater B’Yachad Israel Mission is open to the entire Jewish community—couples and singles, men and women. A fantastic itinerary is being finalized, and participants will be WOW’d by the new and exciting sites to visit and speakers to hear from, as well as those which are true “staples” of Tidewater missions to Israel.

June 11–June 19, 2017

The United Jewish Federation of Tidewater will bring a community mission to Israel. Designed for first timers, as well as those who’ve been to Israel many times, this unique multi-track mission will appeal to all travelers.

A “men’s track,” will include such activities as: golf with Israeli businessmen on the beautiful Caesarea course; a meeting and tour of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange with its CEO; water sports with Israeli youth through a Jewish Agency-sponsored program; visiting Rafael Industries (manufacturers of the Iron Dome defense system). The “women’s track” will feature hands-on workshops with Israeli artists and clothing designers; a wine tasting at a boutique winery; and a pastry workshop with artesian bakers. There will also be plenty of shared experiences for the entire group (like lunch with the team of SpaceIL!).

The mission will showcase today’s Israel—with its thriving arts and culture scene, as well as the high tech business sector. But it will also bring participants to the country’s touchstone sites, including Jerusalem and the Kotel; the mystical city of Tsfat; the ancient fortress at Masada; and others.

A highlight of the mission will come near its close, as the group meets up with Tidewater’s young adults, whose Tom Hofheimer mission is timed to coincide with this one. A community celebration will mark the culmination of the trip, with a true L’Dor V’Dor message and feeling.

Cost for the B’Yachad Mission is $3,750 per person (land only, does not include airfare). This price is based on a minimum of 20 participants. The price will decrease if the group size increases. Pricing is based on double occupancy. Single (hotel) supplements and room upgrades are available. Trip includes seven hotel nights, ground transportation, programming and speakers, admission fees, security, all breakfasts, several lunches and dinners. Price does not include upgrades, extensions, or tips.
