HAT second graders receive Chumash during traditional presentation

Hebrew Academy of Tidewater’s second graders recently received their Chumashim. The annual tradition celebrates everything students have learned so far about the Hebrew language and Judaic studies.

Few things make parents more proud than seeing their child beam with excitement on stage while singing, speaking and understanding another language at such a young age. During the ceremony, Rabbi Mordechai Wecker, head of school, offered his prayers and wishes for this very enthusiastic bunch of students.

After the presentations, students joined their parents, family, friends and congregational representatives to continue the celebration—it’s not a party without food.
