Saturday, March 25, 8 pm, Simon Family JCC

Considered one of Israel’s singing treasures, Gitit Shoval shares her talents and inspiration through musical storytelling. Singing songs from Jewish musicians and composers from around the world, Shoval regales her audience with fascinating anecdotes about them. Her stories offer insights into the lives of the Jewish talent that contributed to contemporary popular music, including Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Carole King, and George Gershwin.

For this performance, the Simon Family JCC will be transformed into a jazz club, complete with a cash bar and appetizers. Gitit Shoval is the seventh guest of the Israel Today series, which offers cultural and educational programs aimed at spotlighting the diversity of talent and people that comprise Israeli life.

Tickets are $23 or $18 for JCC members. For more information or to buy tickets, visit Jewishva.org/IsraelToday or call 757-321-2304.

Presented by the Community Relations Council of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater, Simon Family JCC and community partners.
