Locally acclaimed artist, Dora Marshall Mullins recently celebrated 60 years as a performer and teacher of the violin. Accompanied by Stefan Dulcie on the piano, they plan an entertaining performance for the Wonderful Wednesdays at Jewish Museum & Cultural Center series.

Mullins, a Tidewater native, began her violin studies with her mother at age five. She studied with string renowned teacher and founder of the Feldman Quartet, I.E. Feldman in Norfolk, for 21 years, including extended studies in the disciplines of the chamber music and orchestra.

When the Feldman Chamber Music Society of Norfolk was founded in 1946, she was appointed first violinist, a position she would hold for 40 years.

Mullins served on the faculties of Julliard School; University of Maine; Alfred University; The College of William & Mary and Old Dominion University. She has performed extensively in New York City, New York State, National Gallery D.C., and as a member of the Feldman Chamber Music Society.

Stephen Dulcie graduated summa cum laude from Julliard School of Music in 1982 and earned his Master of Music degree in 1985.

Dulcie is both a teacher and a performer. He is the director of music at ESO Arts Center on the Eastern Shore, where he teaches piano, cello, and violin.

Tickets are $20. Call 391-9266 or email jmccportsmouth@gmail.com. The performance takes place at 607 Effingham St., Portsmouth.
