Norfolk —Beverly K. Mauro, 83, died Thursday, September 19, 2013 in a local hospital.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk and was the daughter of the late Dave and Lillie Kessel. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry (Hank) Mauro.
She is survived by her devoted family: daughter Susan Kosiek and her son-in-law Ted, of Norfolk, son Lance Mauro and her daughter-in-law Dr. Cynthia Reynolds, of Boynton Beach, Fla., by grandson Marc and his wife Holly and great grandchildren Emilie, Ethan and Juliette, grandson Damon and great grandson Marc, her nephew Jeff Kessel and his wife Randi, niece Robin Coponiti and her husband John, niece Jennifer Griggs and her husband Parnell, great niece Amber and great nephew Phillip, her cousins Harriet, Patsy, and Shelley, and by her cherished children of choice who came to think of her as a second mom: Marc, Stan, Barbara, Whitney, Nancy, Pam, Gayle, MJ, Peggy, Gail T, Annette, Rob, Alex, Cathy and Bubba. Although she gave birth to only two children, she was a wise and loving mother to many.
